We were one of the members of the original team that built JPMorgan's Das Kapital Derivatives Trading System. Kapital now helps JPMorgan make serious amounts of money annually. It won an industry award in 2004.

Kapital started life back in 1992/1993. One of the original aims of the project was to create a derivatives trading system with the flexibility of a spreadsheet, but with the power, control and scalability of a true system. With the rapid growth of the derivatives market back in the late 80’s early 90’s and the potential profitability for investment banks, JP Morgan needed a system capable of supporting rapid product expansion. After eleven years of development, Kapital is a world class derivatives risk management pricing system supporting Interest Rate (IR), Credit, FX and Equity exotic transactions.

Identifying new market opportunities is available to all investment banks. However, profitability and success come from being able to execute on those new market opportunities before the competition. Using Kapital, enables both business and IT staff to prototype and develop new ideas that can be promoted into product sets. We worked on seven financial projects at Fannie Mae. We created an application for the determination of the value of buildings based upon the leases therein.

We worked extensively with an engineering company to create it's internal rebar detailing systems. In addition we created a segmental bridge design system.
